In her all out support to the Barangay Nutrition Scholar Program, Lady Mayor Nelieta Q. Noval recently appointed 24 Barangay Nutrition Scholars and sponsored a three-day capability building on the basic skills for BNS.
During the training held March 16-18, 2015 in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Mayor Noval encouraged the newly appointed BNSs to “embrace fully their responsibilities in ensuring that every child in their barangay enjoys his/her right to proper nutrition”. She emphasized that the health and nutrition continue to be part of the priority agenda of the LGU.
The new BNSs used the training as a venue to elect the officers of the Tubod BNS Association and discussed on how the Association can support local leadership in strengthening and sustaining the BNS Program.
The National Nutrition Council X assisted the Municipal Health Office in the conduct of the training with assistance from Ms. Telesfora Madelo of DOH X and MNAO Jake Dumangon of Kadingilan, Bukidnon. srdc
