9 December 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Regional Office X held the first full face-to-face/onsite Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony for 2022 last 25 November 2022 at Chali Resort and Conference Center, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City .
Over 190 participants attended the ceremony, with guests of honor Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang, Assistant Secretary and Executive Director IV of NNC, and Rep. Rufus B. Rodriguez of Cagayan de Oro 2nd District. Also in attendance were Dr. David A. Mendoza, Chief of Local Health Support Division of Department of Health Center for Health Development-Northern Mindanao (DOH CHD-NM), local chief executives, Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) member agencies, local nutrition workers, members of the local nutrition committees, contest finalists, and media partners.

15 December 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – One of the contests celebrated by the National Nutrition Council Region X during Nutrition Month is the Contest on Short Filmmaking in relation to the 2022 Nutrition Month theme: “New Normal na nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon!”. The contest was done with Media Advocates for Nutrition in Governance in Region 10.
During the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony, which took place on November 25, 2022, at the Chali Resort and Conference Center in Cagayan de Oro City, NNC X acknowledged the winners.
The contest aimed to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition in building resilience and recovery from the pandemic. Additionally, the contest intended to spark the curiosity of junior and senior high school students and foster their creativity in order to encourage and organize activities for nutrition in the new normal.

7 December 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – In its fourth year, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) X continually recognized the local government units (LGU) with consistent decrease in stunting prevalence among 0-59 months old children. The award is based on the Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus reports submitted with acceptable OPT Plus coverage of 80%. Stunting is a chronic form of malnutrition resulting from impaired growth and development due to poor nutrition, repeated infection, and other factors.
This year, a total of 41 LGUs bagged the “Circle of Excellence” Award. These LGUs were commended during the 2022 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) that was held last 25 November 2022 at Chali Resort and Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City.

6 December 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – National Barangay Nutrition Scholars Federation Inc. - Northern Mindanao Chapter in coordination with the National Nutrition Council X convened its 7th Regional BNS Conference last 10-11 November 2022 held at Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology Gymnasium, Iligan City. This is the first face-to-face conference since 2019.
More than 2,000 BNSs attended the conference together with their Barangay Officials, City and Municipal Nutrition Action Officers and District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators.
The conference marks the 44th year since the signing of Presidential Decree 1569 and with the theme: “Barangay Nutrition Scholars: Aktibo at patuloy sa walang kupas na serbisyo!”. This is to celebrate the commitment, hard work and selfless service of the BNSs.

With eight years of service as City Nutrition Program Coordinator (CNPC) in Valencia City, Ms. Julie Ann Colipano-Brigoli devoted her efforts to ensure that the nutrition program implementation at the barangay level is strengthened.
CNPC Brigoli was able to execute her tasks in ways that went above and beyond, as evident in her best practices that helped her emerge as the Region’s Outstanding CNPC for 2021:

6 December 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The 3rd Media Advocates for Nutrition in Governance in Region 10 (MANGO DIEZ) Meeting was facilitated by National Nutrition Council Region X last 22 November 2022 at the VIP Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Ms. Gladys Mae S. Fernandez, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of NNC X, served as the presiding officer, and twelve (12) media partners representing radio, television, print, and social media participated during the meeting.
