4 March 2023, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) X, in partnership with Cagayan de Oro City Nutrition Office opened a booth for free nutrition assessment and counselling services during the Heart and Cancer Awareness Month Celebration 2023. The activity, hosted and organized by Department of Health Center for Health Development – Northern Mindanao, was held last 28 February 2023 at Ayala Centrio Activity Center, Cagayan de Oro City, to raise awareness on the importance of practicing healthy lifestyle and diet to keep one healthy.
Conducting the series of assessment and lectures were Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians Ms. Nita Antipuesto, Ms. April Monsanto, and Ms. Pearl Gallasa of the Cagayan de Oro City Health Office-Nutrition Division. While NNC X established the booth and provided all the assessment instruments and IEC materials. Ms. Humbeline G. Española of NNC X also assisted during the event. A total of 23 clients were catered during the duration of the activity.
The DOH CHD-NM highlighted the celebration through various competitions, such as Sayaw Galaw Zumba Challenge, Mr. & Ms. Healthy Hearts and Tiktok Ka Heartner Dance Challenge, and other activities, including lectures, information drive and exhibits, free medical consultations, and free blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol taking.
