NNC1 and NDAP LU sealed its partnership for Lets Talk Nutrition Project

City of San Fernando, La Union – The National Nutrition Council Region 1 (NNC 1) and the just organized Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines – La Union (NDAP-LU) Chapter sealed and successfully launched its partnership for its online nutrition promotion and social media talk show dubbed as “Let’s Talk Nutrition” consisting of 16 episodes which will run from August to November 2022 via the NNC 1 Official Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

The said online talk show aims to improve the knowledge of the general public on proper nutrition particularly to encourage them to practice proper eating behavior and a healthy lifestyle.

Nutrition is a dynamic science as it has a close interlinking relationship between food, education, and nutrition. With proper nutrition, healthy children learn better. The World Health Organization (WHO) asserts that people with adequate nutrition are more productive and can create opportunities to gradually break the cycles of poverty and hunger.

July has always been the designated month to commemorate the annual National Nutrition Month celebration as per Presidential Decree (PD) No. 491, declaring nutrition as a priority to be implemented by all branches of the government of the Philippines in an integrated fashion affirmed by the late President Ferdinand Marcos.



June 14, 2022- The Registered Nutrition-Dietitians in the Province of La Union organized the Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines- La Union (NDAP-LU) Chapter and elected its new set of officers during the Nutrition Forum for RNDs of La Union organized by the National Nutrition Council- Regional Office I (NNC-ROI) and hosted by the Local Government Unit of Bacnotan, La Union.  

Vice Mayor and Mayor-elect, Hon. Divina Fontanilla of Bacnotan, La Union, the Interim President of NDAP-LU Chapter expressed her appreciation and full support to the organization of the NDAP-LU and expressed her gratitude for choosing Bacnotan to host the Nutrition Forum.

2022 MELLPI Pro Orientation SMC

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION- The National Nutrition Council Region 1 successfully conducted the orientation for the 2022 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro attended by one-hundred eighty-one (181) members coming from the local and regional nutrition evaluation team (RNET) and partners from the Scaling Up Nutrition Networks in Region 1 through a live zoom platform last 31 May 2022.

The conduct of MELLPI has already been an annual activity being done to monitor and evaluate the progress and initiatives in the local nutrition programs of LGUs until it was revised and enhanced to MELLPI Pro to comply with the developing changes in nutrition policies and program management anchored to the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition.

LAOAG CITY– The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region 1 has launched the 48th Nutrition Month celebration with a joint regional and provincial opening program in Ilocos Norte province.

During the launching program, NNC Region 1, Ilocos Norte Provincial Nutrition Action Office, and the Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) also brought various health and nutrition services to the attendees.
