Even after the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck Region 1, that doesn’t stop the group to pursue the competition and eventually land first place. Ms. Cailin Ayn Laurente, the leader of the group, said that she didn’t expect that their group will win due to time constraints and other problems. She also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity for their school to be recognized and as well as the whole Candon City Division.

The group’s coaches, Ms. Gelyn Reinante and Ms. Aileen P. Manzano were also grateful and proud that their students’ hard work and sacrifices paid off. They also expressed their gratitude to the National Nutrition Council Region 1 and the Department of Education Region 1 for engaging them to promote healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition.

“We're very happy and proud po sa kanila, since nag start po kasi ang pandemic na stop na din halos ang mga activities and school competitions, nung sinabihan po kami regarding sa Nutri-Jingle contest, agad naman na nag respond ang mga students namin. They really worked hard po especially sa mga practice nila, may mga sacrifices din pero it was all worth it. We did not expect na our school will be the champion ang wish namin ay kahit sa 1st runner up or maybe 2nd okay na, kasi other groups ang gagaling din nila. Yun po, we are also thankful to NNC R1 and to DepEd R1 po for choosing our school (the group Vida Saludable), as the champion of Season 5 Nutri-Jingle contest.”  Ms. Gelyn Reinante quoted.

“We feel so blessed that we were given the chance to join the contest po ng National Nutrition Council. Nung sinabi po ni ma'am Gelyn about sa contest, I immediately encouraged learners to participate since I believe na kaya po nila and also to raise awareness po about maintaining health lalo na po ngayon at pandemic.

Ms. Aileen Manzano quoted.

It was indeed a joyous celebration for every group who took part in this year’s Nutri-Jingle Video Contest but what matters most is the message that was embedded in these young minds.
