Governing Board Resolutions

This resolution declares the need for collective effort in scaling up the use of iron-fortified rice (IFR) for social safety net programs (SSNPs) in the Philippines for the control of anemia, particularly among vulnerable groups. IFR will be used in SSNPs that uses rice as a commodity, such as in DepEd, DSWD, DOH, LGUs and NGOs, among others.
Enjoining Agencies Accountable for Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Commitments to Ensure Budgetary Allocation, Implementation and Reporting of the N4G Commitment; Enjoing Supporting Agencies to Provide Assistance As Needed; and Tasking NNC Secretariat to Submit an Annual Report on the N4G Commitments to the Governing Board (1 of 2)
This resolution approves and adopts actions to promote nutrition and physical activity in support of 2019 Nutrition Month (NM) Campaign. NNC Governing Board members commit to: 1). issue department memorandum or circular to implement activities in July 2019 and onwards supportive of the NM objectives, for their employees and clients; and 2). review existing policies and program to integrate the adoption of physical activity and healthy diets by their employees and stakeholders.
This resolution approves the appointment of Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang, being the highest official of the NNC, to serve as the new SUN Government Focal Point. As such, Dr. Dayanghirang will convene multisectoral platform on nutrition and will be the forefront of elevating nutrition in the national development agenda.
Adopting the National Policy on Nutrition in Emergencies, Tasking NNC Governing Board Member Agencies to Ensure the Efficient and Effective Implementation of the Policy, and Tasking the Nutrition Cluster to Formulate the Appropriate Advisories, Guidelines, and Other Materials to Disseminate and Implement the Policy
Adopting the National Policy on Nutrition in Emergencies, Tasking NNC Governing Board Member Agencies to Ensure the Efficient and Effective Implementation of the Policy, and Tasking the Nutrition Cluster to Formulate the Appropriate Advisories, Guidelines, and Other Materials to Disseminate and Implement the Policy
Endorsing the four (4) nominees to the Office of the President, requesting the Office of the President to appoint three (3) from the nominees as private sector representatives to the NNC Governing Board and tasking the NNC Secretariat to coordinate with the nominees and the Office of the President for the documentary requirements for the appointment of the nominees.

Adopting the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) and the Local Nutrition Early Warning System for Food and Nutrition Security (LNEWS-FNS) as one of the Food Security Assessment Tools in Aid of PPAN and related Sectoral Plans

Approving the submission to the Office of the President of the Nomination of Private Sector Representatives to the NNC GB

Approving the guidelines on the selection of non-wood height and length measuring tool.

Adopting the NNC policy statement on fad diets.

Adopting the policy statement on nutrition programs for government workers.

Adopting the National Policy on Nutrition Management in Emergencies and Disasters
Approving and Adopting the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2011-2016
Approving the submission to the Office of the President of the nomination of the Rural Improvement Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. Koalisyon para Alagaan at Isalba ang Nutrisyon (KAIN), and Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, as private sector representatives to the NNC Governing Board
