This Joint Memo Circular was a product of advocacy meetings with DILG as part of our efforts to operationalize the LGU mobilization strategy of PPAN.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC), as the country’s highest policymaking and coordinating body on nutrition, formulates the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN). The PPAN serves as the blueprint for achieving nutritional adequacies for all Filipinos, and the Philippine government’s commitment in addressing all forms of malnutrition in the country. The NNC has been formulating this 6-year plan since 1978, which has been integrated as a companion plan of the 6-year Philippine Development Plan. The NNC Governing Board approved and adopted the PPAN 2017-2022, together with the GB resolution, during its meeting last 21 February 2017. Since then, the NNC Secretariat has been in constant coordination with the NNC GB member agencies and other relevant stakeholders in identifying their commitments with regards to the expected deliverables of each PPAN programs for the year 2017-2022.
